Ojeando Music Festival Ojen (Marbella, Malaga, Spain)

K&N can now announce the dates and line-up of this spectacular 3 day music extravaganza. This not one to be missed! The festival starts on Friday 10th July, and finishes Sunday 12th July.
The bands will be playing in the village square (La Plaza de Ojen) and in the beautiful caves (La Cuevas). The main line-up is as follows;

Take a look on U-Tube for previews. There will be a feria atmosphere with plenty of food and drink available from any of the popular bars in the square.. The locals from Marbella, Coin, Guaro, and Monda will flood in, along with music lovers from other regions of Spain.

The weather in Ojen, Spain for Friday 8th May 2009. This is not a predicted report, but the actual weather as seen from my terrace and the K&N office window at 10.00am. If you visit our office now, you will find us in short sleeves and shorts. Today is a glorious sunny day, light clouds, with temperatures of around 26 degrees C. with slightly hazy views down the valley to the Mediterranean coast of Marbella. This is a perfect day for visiting the surrounding villages of Monda, Guaro and Coin, or just relax in the plaza (village square) of Ojen. Alternatively a 10 minute drive to the Ecohotel to relax, be pampered with their massage and treatment facilities then enjoy a reasonably priced lunch.
The Ojen Feria (La Feria de Ojen)

The Ojen Feria is an event not to be missed. This party is to honour Ojens saint (San Dionisio) and lasts five days from the 8th of October. The celebrations take place in the village square, and the surrounding streets virtually day and night. There are live bands playing, a fun fair with all the usual amusements, and as well as all the normal bars and restaurants open, there are remote bars set up around the square selling their tapas and pinchitos at attractive prices. You will see the locals in all their finery, with many women dressed in traditional Flamenco costume. Many visitors come up from Marbella, as well as the surrounding villages of Monda, Coin, and Guaro. If you wish to stay for the weekend, K&N can normally find some accommodation in the village if booked early, or if you want to enjoy the party, but retreat later for a little peace and quiet the Ecohotel (10 minutes away is recommended).

We are often asked if there is anything to do, in what people presume to be the sleepy little Spanish village of Ojen. This question often comes from people with children. Ojen boasts a fabulous swimming pool with a restaurant, bar and waiter service to the terraces, a recently refurbished football pitch enabling the Ojen team to play in a high league, tennis courts, basketball court, gymnasium and skateboard park. There are also clubs for cycling, motocross and trials riding.For the less energetic, there are painting courses, mountain safaris, shooting in the nearby village of Monda, health and beauty facilities at the nearby Ecohotel of Ojen. For watersport enthusiasts, the coast offers jet skiing, waterskiing, windsurfing, kiteboarding etc. The beaches of Marbella are only 10 minutes away. There is a regular bus service from Ojen to Marbella.
