What are the advantages of buying a bargain property in Ojen. The first, and to us, the main advantage is Ojen is a non transient community. The locals in Ojen are very open to non-Spanish living in their village, and if you try just a little to integrate, you will be welcomed with open arms. Ojen is a very family orientated community, and every activity and event is designed to include children. Ojen suffers very little crime, and even the slightest sign of graffiti will raise the wrath of the locals and police alike. Ojen is very clean, with the refuge bins cleared daily, along with the streets, which remain fresh even at the height of summer. For this incredible service our council taxes average around 100 Euros per year, yes per year! Ojen is only 10 minutes from Marbella, has a regular bus service to ferry the residents back and forth, 8 minutes to La Cañada shopping centre (the largest on the coast). Ojen has its own medical centre, library, swimming pool, football pitch, tennis courts, skateboard park and gymnasium. The council re-invests much of its income to provide free activities, especially in the summer months, consisting of concerts, parties, exhibitions and of course the annual feria. The final reason is that Ojen, in the near future is going to be a sure-fire investment, as there are currently two major investors building here. One is the Champneys Spa group who have chosen Ojen as their first overseas resort because of its beautiful location, clean air and water quality. These apartments dont come cheap, but are already 50% reserved. K&N still have properties from 98,000 Euros, but we dont expect these price levels to hold for much longer as the market is slowly improving.
